JONES BEACH ENERGY AND NATURE CENTER [JONES BEACH, NY]
The Jones Beach Energy and Nature Center is an 18,000sf museum space operated by New York State Parks and Historic Preservation. From geothermal energy to precise solar orientation, the museum building’s sustainable design houses exhibits that offer lessons on the complex dynamics between man made development and the environment. Before founding Sedge, Mike provided curatorial research and design for exhibits both inside and in the gardens of the museum – from mapping complex energy distribution systems to designing exhibition walls on biomimicry and migratory wildlife. Mike served on the curatorial team, leveraging his understanding of both design and ecology to assist in the development of the museum and garden exhibits.
